Cornell took on the University of Pennsylvania this Saturday at home for Cornell Homecoming. In front of larger than usual crowd of fans, friends, and alumni, the Big Red put on a strong showing, beating the Fighting Quakers 41-22.
Brown University won the Ivy Rugby Wildcard D1AA final today beating Princeton 27-14 in the championship. All 8 Ivy teams participated this weekend. "A big congratulations to Brown for being the Ivy D1AA champions and we all wish them the very best of luck moving forward in the Round of 16," stated Richard Lopacki, Princeton University Director of Rugby.
The preliminary round of the 2014 Ivy Rugby playoffs took place April 12 at Princeton University. The winner, played today between Brown and Princeton, will represent Ivy Rugby in the USA D1AA championship round of 16.
Dartmouth dominated Penn by a score of 38-nil in the Ivy 15s Semifinal match in Hanover, NH. Kevin Clark led all scorers with three trys. The win allows Dartmouth to host the Ivy 15s Championship next Saturday.
Harvard defeated Cornell 19-0 in the Ivy 15s Championship Semi-Finals. The match was played at Cornell's home pitch at 220 Pine Tree Road on the campus of Cornell University. Harvard took a 5-0 lead into halftime before scoring once more than sealing the match with three kicks for post in the second frame.
