Touch Rugby
2017-08-18

Oct 11 2014

To all who are interested in playing/learning the touch version of rugby:

The men and women rugby teams will be organizing games of touch rugby during the weekend before classes start. We encourage all to join whether or not you have experience with rugby. Touch rugby is the non-contact version of the sport. Touch is often played with mixed teams (co-ed).

You do not need any experience to play. The experience level ranges from people who have never heard of rugby to former USA National players. The purposes of playing are to get fit, learn a new sport, work on skills and to have fun. There's no contact besides the very light touch.

Who: Men and Women

When: Tuesdays in August and September starting at 5:00pm

What: Federation of International Touch (FIT)

Where: Rawling Greens in front of North Star Dining Hall

• A short warmup period and introduction to touch will start a few minutes before the start of the games.

• Players will be split into two teams.

• Rolling subs will be used (run hard, sub often).

• There will be a referee to call turnovers, penalties, mark 5 meters and keep the peace.
